SENIOR LINK SOCIETY is Rebranding!

In 1999 the B.C. government decided to stop all services such as housekeeping and companionship while
offering services to seniors. That was when Patricia Cruz and her long-time friend Rudy Carlson, who was a
senior himself, decided to start a non-profit society to support seniors in the Richmond community.

The birth of Senior Link Independent Living Society in 2000 as a charity organization helped to alleviate some
of the seniors concerns. In past years we had physical events so seniors could socialize and be involved in the
creation of such events. The newsletter Senior Link News, a newsletter published by Senior Link, has been
celebrating many seniors who contribute to build Richmond and has also supported many businesses in the
community for 23 years.

Senior Link Independent Living Society is rebranding in 2023. Our new name is Senior Link Society, retaining
the registered charitable status and updating our website: https://seniorlink.ca

We have redone the Mission Statement -The Mission of SENIOR LINK SOCIETY to provide networking for
senior citizens, combining Resources, Continuing Education, Publications and Events, with focus placed on
the elderly/independence, both physical and mentally, including embracing diversity within the community.
This brings the opportunity to include young and aging seniors to share knowledge, caregiving information,
resources and services to those seniors in need.
