History of Senior Link

An article called The Elder Loneliness Epidemic states “Perhaps no other age group feels the keen sting of loneliness more than the elderly.” As a member, you are joining a charity who is breaking the cycle of loneliness and isolation, that is making a difference in the lives of seniors.

Senior Link began in 2000 by Patricia Cruz who brought together a group of dedicated seniors to form Senior Link  Independent Living Society.

The purpose –  to reach out to isolated seniors. To reflect the expanded role envisioned for Senior Link  Independent Living Society, we have adopted the brand Senior Link.

Using the wisdom, skills and time of seniors. Senior Link quickly became more than just a society providing activities for isolated seniors, it became a network of valuable resources that will offer support in future on health related issues.

The network benefited more than the members, as Senior Link reached out to isolated seniors in need of services and community.

Continuing education and publication of a Senior Link Newsletter three times a year keeps seniors informed on resources available to them.

Senior Link provides a network for seniors, about seniors, as a voice to the community to showcase their activities, as well as to voice their concerns to representatives of Government.
